Melon & Sausage

Hey! It's been a beautiful Easter break for me so far and I still have a week left (although I should really crack on with some uni work) however it's been nice keeping myself busy with the new house and catching up with friends. I kinda feel sorry for anyone who knows me, because when I often say 'hey, let's meet up' it often comes with '... can I bring my camera?' What's a girl meant to do with so many pretty friends though? Anyway, I got to catch up with a lovely lovely lady whose name may be familiar to some of you. Helen (Melon Lady) is a fabulous Youtube sensation now but she's still 'Helen who dressed up as a robot for work' to me. She brought along her adorable little sausage pup, Lola, and some pretty goodies from Delilah Dust Jewellery. We went to a local park (along with my friend Yas) and took a few casual piccies for the launch of the new website. ( Go check it out! )

I couldn't help getting snaps of little Lola & the gorgeous Yasmin...

Spring has sprung

And thus I return with my camera! After such a long hiatus due to having to focus hard on my uni work / training for the Swimathon I completed a few weeks ago, I am trying to slowly get back into doing the things I love, as even though I love my degree sometimes I need to escape! I have had the pleasure of working with an old friend who I hadn't seen in a couple of years and another beautiful friend of mine. Photos and blogs to come - Also, is there anything you'd like me to post about? Lots of love - Jordane

I'm back!

Hello!

So i've had about 5 months with no shooting (not out of choice, I might add) I've been busy working my butt off to pay for my move into my new house with my boyfriend and a couple friends next week! So exciting. I couldn't have had better shoots to ease me back into it.
Firstly was a little casual shoot with the beautiful Scarlet Saint, a little rushed but we got a good couple of images out of it and it's always a pleasure to spend time with her!

My second shoot not too long after was with the incredible Lily Stark. An amazing model and lovely lady all round! I had such a wonderful day, we found some beautiful locations and it really helped re-ignite the photo taking flame in me!

More photos to come - I hope you like these two so far...

I am still here I promise.

It is now verging on the 4 month mark of when I last took photos. I have been working my butt off in my other job as a tea and cake girl to get the money together to move out with my boyfriend next month *yay* However, it doesn't mean I have stopped thinking/researching/planning. I am frequently trying to find new creatives to email about working with, and plan new ideas with existing ones. I have a shoot booked with miss Lily Stark next month which I can't wait for and I will also be doing some promo shots for a fetish company called Patrice Catanzaro. Keep your eyes peeled lovelies. Best friends with the best intentions

Good evening,
I have had a busy week getting ready for my driving test tomorrow, but I managed to squeeze in a catchup / impromptu shoot with one of my closest friends. Miss Groen is simply stunning and has an exquisite collection of Agent Provocateur lingerie which i've been dying to shoot her in. As it had been good weather for a couple of days and over a month since i'd done a shoot I thought it was about time we did something. We headed to one of my favourite locations in my home town and found a quiet little corner to work in. I am so so happy with the final outcomes - having gorgeous best friends to model for you is pretty awesome. Hope you like the photos!

The hidden industry.

Good morning. Today's post is going to be a little update on how I am feeling about photography and the 'industry' I am in at the moment. Since my hectic trip to London in March I have been focusing on my university work. Now I have handed everything in for my first year and am impatiently awaiting my results, I am planning to start doing some shoots again. I am finding it hard to find models, locations and designers which is something I have never struggled with. But it seems I have exhausted the circle of creatives I have been interested in for the past two years. Models I dreamt of working with create an internet presence which makes me reluctant to want to work with them. People say things and of course I take them with a pinch of salt, but it seems everyone wants 'one up' on someone else, when the only reason I do what I do is for fun, not for competition. I have always been happy to work for trade if the work benefits me and I have always understood it from a models point of view also. However, there seems to be an increasing amount of 'amateurs' asking for up to £60 an hour, after THEY approach ME. My rates have been £40 an hour up until now, but I always do deals and cater to peoples needs. My makeovers are the most popular package and I will continue to keep them as they are, however after being informed by a 'business man' who strongly believes in my talent that I should up my rates, I have highly considered it. My problem is I do not own a studio, which of course limits who wants to work with me. Location shoots don't seem so popular at the moment. I also live on the East Coast of England - way out of the way. I am of course happy to travel and hire studios but that would mean I would definatly have to up my rates. What do you think? I need some good advice. Jordane x
